Cool Tech LLC is a commercial-only HVAC and refrigeration repair and installation company. 

What was your business workflow like before ServiceM8?

We were using paper and QuickBooks. Our technicians would complete paper timesheets explaining where they went and what they did. Our office staff then turned that paperwork into invoices on the computer.  

How did your workflow change once you started using ServiceM8?

Everything is streamlined in ServiceM8. Staff are scheduled and dispatched from ServiceM8, and they can see what jobs they have scheduled, where they need to go and what they need to do. Invoices are now completed in ServiceM8. Our office staff can see everything that has occurred in the field at any time rather than waiting for paperwork to return to the office. 

What kind of time savings have you seen since you started using ServiceM8?  

It has made our guys in the field more efficient, saving at least 10-15% per technician, and we’re still progressing.  

The biggest difference has been the paperwork our office person completes. Rather than looking at paperwork that the technicians bring back to the office and entering that into the computer, it’s already there. It has saved our office person 8-10 hours per week, it’s amazing and it has taken a lot of stress away from her.  

What is one of your favorite things about ServiceM8?

One of my favorite things is we can take the iPads into the field and it has all our customer and job information right there. The guys can see where they are going to go and what they are going to do on a job. It’s made things much more efficient.  

What was the learning curve like to get up and running with ServiceM8?

The technicians picked it up really quick, it was very easy to learn.  

What would you recommend to other businesses that are thinking about using ServiceM8?

Don’t hesitate, just do it. You’ll be so happy that you did. If you have any service related company you won’t regret it. It has too many things that can help your company. Try it and you’ll like it.
