When you're trying to improve your quoting accuracy, it helps to see how your original estimates compared to what jobs actually cost. The updated profit detail window now captures and stores your estimated costs at the time of quoting, so you can easily identify where your estimates were on target and where they missed the mark.

What's New

• New 'Quoted Cost' column shows a snapshot of total estimated costs when your final quote was sent or accepted
• Compare quoted costs directly against actual costs in the same view

How It Works

When you send or accept a final quote for a job, ServiceM8 automatically captures the estimated cost of materials, labor, and admin time at that moment. Later, when you review the job's profitability, you can see both:

• Quoted Cost - What you originally estimated the job would cost
• Actual Cost - What the job actually cost based on materials used, time tracked, and admin overhead

Where to Find It

You can access this comparison in the profit detail window by clicking on the profit icon in the Quotes & Invoicing tab of any job card in your Online Dashboard.

Note: This feature requires the Job Costing add-on to be activated. The quoted cost data will be available for jobs where quotes are sent or accepted after this feature is released.
