Referral Bonus has Increased to $500!

To help you grow as a ServiceM8 Partner and invest more in initiatives to attract new clients, we’ve increased the Partner Referral bonus from $100 to $500 for each new customer you refer to ServiceM8.

From now on, every new customer you Refer to ServiceM8, who goes on to subscribe to a plan, will earn you a $500 Referral Bonus.

They must be new to ServiceM8, and create their account through one of your three Referral options, being where:

  • They sign up and create their account from your shared Referral Link.
  • They sign up and create their account from your Referral Invite, sent via the Client Invite Wizard.
  • You create the account on their behalf, via the Client Invite Wizard.

How do Referrals work?

There are three ways to Refer a new customer to ServiceM8, for you to be eligible for the Referral Bonus:

  1. Share your Referral Link

As a ServiceM8 Partner, you have your own unique Referral Program link, available in the bottom-left corner of your Partner Program dashboard. It’ll look something like this: https://sm8.link/xxxxxxx. 

Anyone who clicks your link will arrive on a ServiceM8 account signup page, which includes your business logo. When they create their trial account through this page, your services as a ServiceM8 Partner will be exclusively promoted to the trialler. 

If the trialler goes on to subscribe to a paid plan, because they created their account using your Referral Link, you will receive the Referral Bonus.

  1. Send a Referral Invite via the Client Invite Wizard

In the ‘My Clients’ view of your ServiceM8 Partner account, click ‘Invite Client’, and when you enter the email address of someone who doesn’t have a ServiceM8 account, you’ll have the option to ‘Send Referral Invite’. 

An automated referral email will be sent with your referral link to an account creation page. When the business you’re referring creates their account through this page, if they go on to subscribe to a plan, you will receive the Referral Bonus. 

  1. Create the Account via the Client Invite Wizard

In the same Client Invite Wizard, when you enter the email address of someone who doesn’t have a ServiceM8 account, you also have the option to ‘Create Account on behalf of Client’. 

This will create a new account which you can switch into in ‘My Clients’. Once you’ve set up the account, you can create a password for the business owner, then provide this to the client along with next steps. 

Since the account was created through your Client Invite Wizard, should the client go on to subscribe, you will receive the Referral Bonus.


How does the $500 Referral Bonus get paid out?

The Referral Bonus will be paid the same way it’s always worked — it will be paid out progressively, at a rate of 30% of ServiceM8’s revenue from the referred customer i.e. when the customer pays their monthly ServiceM8 subscription fee, 30% will be added to your Partner commission balance, continuing over time up to $500.

What’s the criteria for the increased $500 Referral Bonus?

To receive the increased $500 Referral Bonus for a ServiceM8 customer, the referred customer must:

  • Be new to ServiceM8 i.e. you are genuinely making them aware of/introducing them to ServiceM8; and
  • Not have had a ServiceM8 account previously (trial or paid); and
  • Create their ServiceM8 account via one of your three Referral options (above), after 24 February 2022; and
  • Start a ServiceM8 paid subscription.

The $500 Referral Bonus will be paid out progressively, at a rate of 30% of ServiceM8’s revenue from the customer. The customer must remain a subscriber and pay their ServiceM8 subscription fees in order for the Referral Bonus to pay out. 


What if a client doesn’t create their account through my Referral options?

A customer must create their account (for the first time) via one of your three Referral options (above), in order for you to receive any Referral Bonus. No exceptions will be made to this requirement.

  • We cannot retrospectively attribute a referral to your Partner account. Requests along these lines can’t be considered; and
  • Accounts which are cancelled then re-created through a Referral Link are ineligible for any Referral Bonus.  

The “win-win” intent of the Referral Bonus is to help you invest in your ServiceM8-related content and marketing, and reward you for referring legitimate new customers to ServiceM8. ServiceM8 reserves the right to remove the Referral Bonus from any account where it believes, in its sole discretion, the referral was not genuine. 

Referral commission is an established concept these days, so if you’re providing your time and expertise to introduce new businesses to ServiceM8 (e.g. via a detailed video overview, or a free event), it’s completely OK to ask they use your Referral Link to sign up — people will be glad to help you out in return. 


Do I need to be connected to a customer’s account to receive the Referral Bonus?

No, you don’t need to be connected to a referred customer as their ServiceM8 Partner in order to receive the Referral Bonus from that account.
