ServiceM8 is an app built for business, not for consumers. This is a very important distinction. With consumer apps, being available to a wide audience is often a very important factor. With business apps, the priority is on quality and reliability.
And while the obvious downside of being Apple-exclusive is that it prevents some people from being able to use the ServiceM8 app, the upside of specialising is enormous, for us and our customers — small businesses which use or are willing to invest in Apple hardware.
All of our research, development and testing goes into the Apple platform, meaning we can leverage everything this platform has to offer, instead of compromising design to be compatible across operating systems.
Specialising with the Apple platform also allows us to spend time on some of the finer details.

So in the end, if we didn't focus our efforts and instead opted to make ServiceM8 compatible with other hardware platforms and operating systems, it would compromise the quality, experience and effectiveness of ServiceM8 as a job management solution, and therefore its ability to help small business thrive.
