ServiceM8 in Deloitte's Tech Fast 50 for 2020

27 November 2020, Darwin, Australia — Darwin-based software company, ServiceM8, was announced Australia’s 28th fastest-growing company of 2020 at Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 awards ceremony streamed online Thursday evening.

Now in its twentieth year, the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 program ranks the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Australia, based on percentage revenue growth over three years. Winners are recognised as being forward thinking and innovative technology companies in sectors such as software, communications and clean energy.

ServiceM8, a job management app for trade contractors and mobile service businesses, was founded in 2010 by father-and-son duo Kim and Ben Ford. The pair developed the app after taking over a locksmithing business and struggling to optimise its day-to-day operations and paperwork. Ten years on, ServiceM8 is used by small businesses around the world and continues to grow, recording 248% growth in the last three years.

ServiceM8 CEO, Ben Ford, reflected on ServiceM8’s beginnings and growth “It’s crazy looking back at how far we’ve come. It just goes to show that if you solve real problems for your customers, and completely focus on their success, your own success will follow.”

Technology Fast 50 Leader, Deloitte Partner Josh Tanchel, said: “Let’s face it, 2020 has not been a normal year. The winning list in 2020 highlights that the COVID-crisis has continued to accelerate the disruption of traditional industries. The rise of businesses that have successfully harnessed technology is clear. Every company nominated this year has shown great resilience and resourcefulness. We’re delighted that despite the extraordinary circumstances, so many Australian tech companies are continuing to experience growth. Deloitte congratulates all of those companies that made the list in 2020 and we look forward to tracking their ongoing progress in the years ahead.”

Supported by the ASX, National Australia Bank and DLA Piper Australia, the awards are in their twentieth year and provide international recognition for Australian innovation, with the winners gaining automatic entry into the Deloitte Asia Pacific Technology Fast 500 program.
